Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah killed in Israeli airstrike

Hezbollah has confirmed that its leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed by an Israeli airstrike on 9/27:

In an operation codenamed "New Order," the IDF dropped dozens of 2000-lb. bunker-buster bombs on Hezbollah central headquarters, which it said was located in an underground bunker below a compound of six residential buildings in southern Beirut.

More details were shared by IDF international spokesman Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani:

Shoshani said the Hezbollah headquarters were located underground, beneath a residential building in Dahiyeh, a southern suburb of Beirut, in keeping with the group's strategy "to hide behind civilians." He said the IDF always takes precautions to avoid civilian deaths, but he was not prepared to speak to the specifics of Friday’s airstrike, including the types of munitions that were used or the extent of the collateral damage.

Nasrallah has been the leader of Hezbollah since 1992.

The war between Israel and Palestine gradually spread to Lebanon as Hezbollah joined the fight.

The supreme leader of Iran, which is strongly linked with Hezbollah, said that Nasrallah's death "will not go unavenged", adding to concerns that the conflict will further spread throughout the region.
